5 Reasons I Love Squarespace
If you've been around here for any length of time you probably know that my love of Squarespace as a website platform runs deeps. I started using it in 2014 and never looked back. And there are some key reasons why I think Squarespace is the most versatile, useful, and all-around best platform for you and me to build your website on.
A common question I get is: "Why Squarespace?" So today I wanted to share with you some of my favorite features of Squarespace and what made me choose to work with it exclusively for when I work with clients.
#1: Drag + Drop Functionality
The first thing I love about Squarespace is the core framework that it's built on. Using different blocks placed at any point on the page you can add in anything you can think of - we're talking, text boxes, images, slideshows, quotes, videos, charts, social media feeds, buttons and forms. And then drag and drop it to adjust your layout. And with the "spacer" block you can change the size of the blocks on the page and add space between elements.
#2: Making quick edits is super simple
One of the biggest complaints I hear from potential clients and people researching website platforms is that they can't figure out how to change anything themselves. That leaves them depended on a designer for even minor tweaks, and that can get really frustrating really quick.
With Squarespace you can feel empowered to make any quick edits you need, and it's as easy as using a word processing program. Here's how: find the section you want to change, hover over it until the black box pops up and then click "edit," locate the text you need to edit, and click and type! Yes, it's that easy.
#3: It's an all-in-one platform
There's no widgets to sort out, no plug-ins to buy and keep updating constantly, and no external website host - which were all my major complaints about other website platforms.
If you want to collect addresses and send emails to your list - Squarespace can do that!
If you want to set up a shop and sell physical or digital products, or host and sell classes - Squarespace can do that!
If you want to blog (which I highly recommend for any online business!) - Squarespace can do that!
If you want to allow people to book a time slot in your schedule for any reason, like a free consult call - Squarespace can do that!
If you want to track your analytics and see where your website traffic is coming from - Squarespace can do that!
There's so much built directly into Squarespace that you likely won't need anything else to run your online business. You can even purchase your domain through Squarespace and keep everything all in one place. Simple, straightforward, and no hidden extras to buy. I love that.
#4: Back-End Customization
Squarespace allows me to use coding tricks on the back end to make your site look super custom, while still maintaining that easy-to-use functionality for you on the front end. And I can work some magic on the back end! Here's a secret: all of the websites I build with Squarespace have the same base template - but with custom coding and the brand elements I design they all look so different.

That might not mean anything to you, but this is the language I love to play with and Squarespace gives me that kind of control!
#5: Squarespace pricing rocks!
With 4 different levels of pricing based on your needs - from a personal plan all the way up to the advanced commerce plan, there is a price point that will work for you and your needs. Most of my clients are on the Business plan which is just $18/month if you pay annually. It has the most versatility when it comes to included features, number of pages allowed on the site, premium integrations, and a professional email through Google.
