Her dreams became reality
When I was taking my first steps into what has now become Your Ampersand Studio I did a lot of thinking about the market where I live. For a small town, we have a lot of really terrific photographers. So instead of trying to compete with them, I wanted to connect with them. I realized that they were my my dream clients... they were my people.
So I wanted to really get to know them. I asked local photographer Sara of Sara Renee Photography to meet me for coffee. I didn't really know what I wanted to chat about, but I just wanted to understand who is she and why she loves photography. It was a great conversation. We talked about how she started in the industry, what she loves about it, what parts are hard. We discussed in detail how she struggled with her blog and website to get a constant look and feel. She also told me what her biggest dream was.
Sara wanted to open her own photography studio.
She wanted to open a studio in our town. To have a building with an office and designated photography space. What a huge and incredible dream. I wanted to help her!
And in that moment I realized what I needed to do. How I could focus my skills and attention in a way that could truly help photographers...that could truly help Sara. I could design her logo.
She had seen some of the brush scripting I'd been doing and was drawn to that look. She suggested maybe an S and an R together, and then gave me control to come up with the concept further. I had so much fun with this. I spent a good chunk of time painting and paints S's and R's. I combined my favorites into this final image. Then using her already perfect pink color I created this. She LOVED it!
And the best part? She got her studio, and her logo is front and center on her display window. Such a cool feeling. To be a little bit a part of her big dream. That's what this is all about for me.
Sara, it was so much fun creating this logo for you. Using my brush script skills in this way was a treasure. I can't wait to watch you continue to grow and see the images that come out of your incredible new studio.
